Today's Jet of the Day

#8 - Ted (Tuffy) Hargreaves

Norman Edward Hargreaves
Center
Born November 4, 1943 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan
Died on November 3, 2005
Height: 5' 11" Weight: 175
The Jets offered centerman Ted Hargreaves a tryout during the summer of 1973 and he made the team that year. During his only season in a Jets uniform, he was a well-respected member of the team, killed penalties, and performed admirably as a role player. He was released the following season and he went on to finish his playing career in the WIHL with the Nelson Maple Leafs. “His legs did him in. He was certainly one of our most intelligent hockey players. I hated to let him go,” said Bill Robinson. Hargreaves passed away in November 2005 after an 11-month battle with cancer.
