| The Jets acquired veteran Howie Young from the Phoenix Roadrunners midway through the 1974-1975 season and he quickly became a fan favorite in Winnipeg. Bobby Hull's former roommate in Chicago was named the most popular player by the Jets Booster Club despite playing in only 42 games as a Jet and he also chipped in with 13 goals and 10 assists. After the 1974-1975 season, he spent a year away from the game, then returned for a brief stint with the Roadrunners along with a few stops in the minor leagues. He wrote a book entitled Cowboy on Ice, his life story, and also appeared in three movies after his playing career. |
